Get ready for fun and skill-building with Essendon Hockey’s HookIn2Hockey! Our program features exciting coaching sessions designed to introduce your child to the sport. Once they’ve completed the program, they’ll have the opportunity to join a team and play in our weekend competitions.
To make it easy to get started, we provide hockey sticks for use during HookIn2Hockey. For personal safety, we require all participants to have their own mouthguards and shin guards. These can be purchased separately. If you’d prefer a convenient option, you can order a Hockey Australia “Participation Pack” during the registration process, which includes all the essentials (excluding mouthguard).
ABOUT HOOK IN2 HOCKEY
HookIn2Hockey is Hockey Australia’s official junior program that allows kids to make friends and have fun in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment!
HookIn2Hockey provides an introductory program that caters for all abilities and allows participants to learn the skills essential for hockey in a fun environment featuring familiar games specifically tailored for hockey.

Register your child/ren by clicking the “Register Here” button below, where you will be redirected to the registration page for the Essendon Hockey. On this page there are 2 options for the program. Select either to include or exclude the Participation Pack.
MOUTHGUARD POLICY
Essendon Hockey’s policy is that all registered junior players must wear a mouthguard for all on-field activities.

When the Term 1 Hookin2Hockey program ends there are many choices depending on what you and your child would like to do including both internal and external programs and competitions, for all ages, abilities and budgets.
In most cases, we recommend that your child proceed to join the U8 or U10 competition group (competition commences on Saturday 27 April, 2024). More information will be provided concerning these programs during the HookIn2Hockey sessions.
